Description

I am virtually going around the globe looking for under-dog warbirds and this time stopped in Germany and I've picked the He-112B.

The Heinkel He-112 was a contemporary and competitor to the Bf-109. The Bf-109 was faster with its thinner wing and significantly faster to produce although the He-112 had advantages in the armament, ground handling and turning performance.

Ernst Heinkel was allowed to sell abroad his impressive design, but, quickly, the start of the war snuffed diplomatic relations and export sales.

Overall about 100 were built and the He-112 can be rendered in several interesting liveries, ranging from Germany, of course, to the Condor Legion in Spain, and Hungarian colors, all the way out to Japan. I especially like the colors used in Romania - unusual and highly visible.

This 600mm wingspan rendition is powered by a BR2205 or the lighter 1806 with 2300Kv and is designed to be printed in LW-PLA, with a few key parts in PLA+, like the motor mount, spinner, servo and battery tray, propeller spinner. The design has carefully planned internal structures for LW-PLA slicing resulting in clean parts with minimal oozing. Major slicer support is provided to quickly print clean parts.
