Description
The Leonardo (formerly Augusta Westland) 609 is a civilian tiltrotor, similar to the V22 Osprey. It was designed for the offshore oil and VIP markets.
This AW609 is project that was started in the summer lockdown of 2020.
This project is released as a beta release. Whilst I got the hover dialled in nicely I never got to complete transition testing before my second prototype was damaged in a crash. SO much work has gone into the project that I feel its a shame for it to sit on a shelf until I get round to it so thought I would release it at a reduced experimental price.
VTOL highly challenging and requires a fair amount of trial and error, it is however hugely rewarding and I encourage you to have a go.
SPECIFICATION
Flight Controller capable of VTOL transitions (I used the kk2.1 with OpenAeroVTOL)
Wing Span - 900mm
Motors - 2 x 2836
Battery - 3S Lipo (2200mah gives about 5 mins in the hover)
ESC - 2 x 20amp
5 x 9g servos (good, strong, quality)
Minimum 7 Channel Radio
Print Bed Size - 220 x 220 x220
